CO-OP'S MISSION

In the true spirit of a co-operative , Co-Op Cabs was founded by a group of independent taxicab owners to market their taxicab services to the residents, visitors and businesses in the City of Toronto . Their easily identifiable red and yellow vehicles have been roaming the streets of Toronto since 1957.

CALL CENTRE

Co-Op Cabs operates a state of the art call centre which uses modern technology to receive and process service calls 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Our customer service representatives using our fully computerized software system quickly and easily process all our service calls.
Our computers, employing a global positioning system (GPS) automatically allocates all calls to the closest vehicle in a fair and timely manner.
Our mobile data terminals, which are installed in every vehicle, ensure that all drivers receive all the call information accurately and quickly.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS

Co-Op Cabs does not own or operate any vehicles.
All vehicles are owned and operated by independent contractors who are members of Co-Op Cab's call centre.
A high percentage of the independent contractors in Co-Op are licensed by the City as Ambassador Taxicab Owners and many more are independent taxicab owners.
The pride of owning your own vehicle and the small business status of our independent contractors ensures that the highest level of customer service is achieved.

LICENSING

The City of Toronto completely regulates the cab industry to ensure that the public is well serviced. Our call centre is licensed as a broker to allow us to distribute service calls to non-owned vehicles. All members of Co-Op Cabs are either licensed as taxicab drivers, or taxicab owners.

The City of Toronto offers the most comprehensive taxi training course in North America . All vehicles used as taxicabs are thoroughly inspected by City of Toronto licensed mechanics at a City owned, state of the art, inspection facility every six months. City licensing inspectors also conduct random safety blitzes to ensure that all taxicabs are safe and roadworthy.

We at Co-Op Cabs fully endorse the City's tough regulation. Both the City and the members of Co-Op cabs want to provide quality service to our residents and visitors.
